China's ongoing "two sessions," the annual gatherings of the National People's Congress (NPC) and the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), offer international students in China a window to peak the development trend of China.
全国人民代表大会开幕以后，就读于山西大学微生物专业的博士研究生塔里克Pir Tariq Shah收看了相关新闻，这位巴基斯坦留学生对中国去年取得的成绩印象深刻。
After the opening of the NPC, Pir Tariq Shah, a doctoral student majoring in microbiology at Shanxi University, watched relevant news. The Pakistani student was impressed by China's achievements last year.
尽管面临疫情挑战，中国去年国内生产总值突破110万亿元，比上年增长8.1%。塔里克认为，作为全球的主要经济体，中国对全球经济的稳定运行起到了至关重要的作用。
Accoding to the government work report, China's GDP exceeded 110 trillion yuan (about 17.4 trillion U.S. dollars) last year, an increase of 8.1 percent over 2020. Tariq believed that, as a major global economy, China played a crucial role in stabilizing the global economy.
对于大多数在华留学生来说，“一带一路”无疑是两会期间他们最关心的关键词。
For most international students, the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) is the key topic they cared most during the "two sessions".
一端连着中国新疆喀什，一端连着巴基斯坦瓜达尔港，全长3000公里的“中巴经济走廊”涵盖交通、能源、农业等建设项目，这些项目为当地人带来的实实在在的帮助。
Connecting Kashgar, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and Gwadar Port, Pakistan, The 3,000-kilometer China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) covers transportation, energy, agriculture and other construction projects, which brought tangible benefit to local people.
经过了4年多的建设，位于Khyber Pakhtunkhwa省装机容量40.8MW的Koto水电站已经接近完工，预计将于今年开始为当地输送清洁能源。
After more than four years of construction, the 40.8MW Koto Hydropower Project in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province is nearing completion and is expected to generate clean energy this year.
“一直关注着Koto水电站的建设，不仅因为它在我家乡，我父亲身为机械工程师也参与其中，他经常给我介绍项目的最新情况。”塔里克说，中国在巴基斯坦的投资不仅让更多当地人有了工作，也为今后的可持续发展提供了基础。
“I have been following the Koto Hydropower Project not only because it is in my hometown, but my father is also involved as a mechanical engineer and he keeps me updated on the project,” Tariq said.
政府工作报告中明确中国将以坚持共商共建共享的方式高质量共建‘一带一路’项目，塔里克说认为，这将为沿线各国注入经济发展动力。
In the government work report, China made it clear that it will jointly build the BRI project with high quality in a way of adhering to extensive consultation, joint construction and shared benefits. Tariqbelieved that this will boost growth for BRI participating countries.
Koto水电站项目只是中国参与巴基斯坦建设的一个缩影。巴基斯坦驻华大使莫因·哈克表示，近年来，中巴经济走廊建设合作已经为巴基斯坦创造超过7万个就业岗位，根据巴政府测算，在今后5到7年间还将创造50万个直接和间接就业岗位。
The Koto Hydropower Projectis just a example of China’s participation in Pakistan’s construction. MoinulHaque, Pakistani ambassador to China, said that in recent years, the construction and cooperation of the CPEC has created more than 70,000 jobs for Pakistan. According to the estimates of the Pakistani government, 500,000 direct and indirect jobs will be created in the next five to seven years.
来自中非国家刚果（布）的山西大学工商管理专业留学生查尔斯则是“一带一路”倡议的直接受益者，2010年到2014年，他作为翻译人员参与了首都附近玛雅-玛雅机场的建设，这段经历也促使他来中国求学。
Passy Charles Riseph, an international student from The Republic of Congo, who is major in Business Management in Shanxi University, was a direct beneficiary of BRI. From 2010 to 2014, he worked as a translator in the construction of the Maya-Maya Airport in Brazzaville, which prompted him to study in China.
“过去，我们的首都机场非常简陋，只有一层楼。在机场完工后，它一度成为中非地区最具竞争力的机场之一。”令查尔斯感到骄傲的是，2014年他正是在这座机场登上飞机，飞往了遥远的中国。
“In the past, our capital airport only had one floor. After the new airport was completed, it was at one point one of the most competitive airports in Central Africa,” Charles said, added that what made him proud was that in 2014, it was at this airport that he boarded a plane and flew to China.
“目前，中国正在积极参与我们国家黑角经济特区的建设，希望有朝一日，我们也能拥有像深圳一样发达的经济特区。”查尔斯说。
"At present, China is participating in the construction of our country's Point-Noire Special Economic Zone, and hope that one day, we can also have a special economic zone as developed as Shenzhen," said Charles.
留学生们纷纷表示，期待“一带一路”倡议为他们提供了广阔的发展空间，不少人准备毕业后通过参与“一带一路”参与祖国建设。
Interviewed international students expected that the BRI will provide them with opportunities for personal development, and many of them planning to participate in the construction of theircountries by participating in the BRI after graduation.
“中国的成功为发展中国家带来的不仅是机遇，更重要的是信心。”谈到未来，查尔斯表示，“我希望将把在中国所学运用到建设祖国上面，让更多人过上体面的生活。”（完）
“China's economic achievement has brought not only opportunities but also confidence to developing countries,” said Charles, who was determined to go back his motherland and apply his knowledge to building his country, so that more people can live a decent life.
